I don't think anyone would be surprised to hear a teacher say how important reading is to the development of students. What some may not know is how important it is to children of ALL ages! In preschool, we teach that reading a book is not just about reading the words on the pages. You can "read" a book by looking at pictures and creating a story of your own, retell a favorite book you've heard several times, or try to guess what might happen next in the story. Daily exposure to books and reading with your children has countless benefits. Happy reading!
