Join us this week to learn about the comprehensive approach to safety and security in Beavercreek City Schools!
Beavercreek is seeking substitutes to join our team!
Mr. Shaw, 3rd grade teacher at Shaw Elementary, figured out one way to get his students excited about reading!
On Fridays, each student gets a flashlight and carpet square to go anywhere in the room for reading time. Mr. Shaw then turns off the lights, and students read using flashlights. The students absolutely love this activity! #FlashlightFridays
Yesterday, a Woodwind Quintet from the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra stopped by Shaw Elementary to perform and educate our 3rd graders. Students learned about the instruments and made connections to skills learned in music class!

Last night, Shaw Elementary PTO held its Do Good with Chipotle fundraiser, and we spotted 1st grader Jade and 3rd grader Jordyn out supporting their school. They convinced their mom that Chipotle was the only option for dinner and were very excited to support Shaw! #BreekSchools #ShawSchoolSpirit

Mark your calendars! It looks like a hot day on Wednesday, August 23, making it an excellent opportunity to support Shaw Elementary PTO! From 5-9, if you visit Jet Freeze and mention the Shaw fundraiser, 15% of the profits will go to their PTO fund. Jet Freeze is located at 4014 E Patterson Rd.
Today was a great day for learning as we had various staff professional development going on. Our BHS teachers learned about ways to use data to inform instructional strategies. Our middle school teachers spent time collaborating to learn more about the characteristics and needs of our students and how we can better support them, and some of our elementary staff spent time learning more about emotional intelligence.
Join us tonight for Open House Night! Each of our buildings will host an open house for students and parents to stop by and meet teachers, get acquainted with the building and classrooms, and get ready to start the school year off next week.
