We are incredibly proud of our very own Ms. Creech! 🎶 On Veterans Day, she was honored to participate in the Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery/Community Veterans' Day Ceremony. Alongside her sister, Ms. Creech performed The National Anthem and America the Beautiful, paying tribute to veterans and their family's legacy. This event held special meaning, as their parents are laid to rest there, and their dad was an Army veteran. It also marked the anniversary of their mom's passing. 💙 Thank you, Ms. Creech, for sharing your beautiful voice and heartfelt connection to such a meaningful day. #VeteransDay

Fact Friday! In honor of National Veterans and Military Family Appreciation Month, did you know that the Purple Star School designation began in 2017 in Ohio and that Trebein Elementary was part of the inaugural class to receive this prestigious designation? 💜✨ The Purple Star Award is given to "Military-Friendly Schools" that demonstrate support for our military-connected families. Today, 45 out of 50 states have followed Ohio's lead in recognizing Purple Star Schools. We are proud to share that all 11 Beavercreek City School buildings have earned the Purple Star designation. Last month was bittersweet as our Board of Education held its final meeting at 3040 Kemp Rd., marking the end of an era. 🧡 In case you missed it, the BOE is relocating to convert the central office space into additional preschool classrooms. This month’s meeting will be held at Main Elementary on November 21, with plans to host the December meeting at the new Apple Valley location. 📐✨ In October, Mrs. Harney's 4th-grade scholarship math class at Trebein Elementary took on an exciting project-based learning unit to sharpen their math skills! These students pushed their math abilities to the next level through teamwork, decision-making, mapping, calculating area and perimeter, budgeting, and solving decimal word problems. Each student created an advertisement or a 3-D model for their final project. They engaged in feedback sessions to enhance their designs and wrapped up with a gallery walk featuring positive Post-it notes. The top six projects earned a spot in the hallway for all to admire. 💡🎉 🧡🖤 #TrebeinElementary

🎉🍦 Cheers to 50 Days of Kindergarten at Main Elementary! 🍦🎉 Main kindergarteners recently celebrated their 50th day of school in style! They enjoyed root beer floats, got creative with crafts, made a delicious 50-piece snack, and participated in so many other fun activities. 🎨✨ It was a fantastic day filled with learning, laughter, and lots of smiles as we marked this special milestone together!

🎶 Fact Friday! 🎶 Did you know the Beavercreek High School Friends Show Choir has been sharing its musical talent for over 50 years? Established in 1972, this group started as an offshoot of the BHS vocal music program when a group of friends began meeting after school to sing more contemporary music. This casual gathering inspired the name “Friends” and gave rise to our amazing show choir! Since then, Friends Show Choir has been a proud Beavercreek tradition, bringing energy, passion, and creativity to every performance. 👔✨ Principal for a Day at Trebein! ✨👔 As part of Trebein’s PTO fundraiser, two lucky students got to step into the shoes of Principal Walk for the day, and they were incredible in their roles! These young leaders embraced the responsibilities with enthusiasm and brought lots of smiles to everyone at Trebein. The RISE classroom at Main Elementary held a special election Tuesday to name their new stuffed turkey! Each student received an actual ballot and an "I Voted" sticker, choosing between the names Tom, Turk, and Butterball. After all the votes were in, Butterball was declared the winner! This fun activity gave students a chance to learn about the importance of voting and the concept of a secret ballot. 🔥 Our BHS Career Based Intervention (CBI) students recently participated in hands-on fire extinguisher training with the Beavercreek Fire Department! As part of their job safety unit, students learned essential skills for safely handling fire emergencies. 🌱🥗 Mrs. Sutton's ELA and Science classes at Parkwood Elementary enjoyed a tasty and educational treat last week, sampling fresh salads grown in their Tower Garden! As part of their study on the roles organisms play in ecosystems, students had the chance to act as "consumers" of the leafy "producers" they helped cultivate.

It’s Election Day! And some of our preschoolers spent their day practicing the art of voting! Our youngest students cast ballots on fun topics unique to each class, like their favorite fruit, pet, animal, color, character, or shape. Each little voter chose just one option, practiced standing in line, folded their ballot, and proudly wore their “I Voted” sticker with excitement! The votes were counted at the end of class, and the results were shared with students and families. 🚓🤖 On October 29th, Automation and Robotics students at Coy Middle School welcomed a special visit from the Dayton Police Department Bomb Squad! SGT Wolodkiewicz, Detective Ettinger, Officer Weidner, and Detective Cartee demonstrated how they use robotics to handle hazardous materials safely. Students explored Bomb Squad technology firsthand, learning to operate the robots and connecting the systems to their own class prototypes. This hands-on experience was made possible through a partnership between Beavercreek City Schools and the Greene County Career Center, bringing real-world STEM to our classrooms! 🖤🧡 #BeavercreekSTEM #CoyMiddleSchool

🎉👏 Congratulations to our Speech and Debate team! This past weekend, first-year competitors from all grades represented Beavercreek at the Greater Miami Valley District Tournashop, competing against Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus teams. Several of our new team members placed in their categories, showcasing their hard work and dedication. 🎃🍬 Mr. Shaw’s third graders dove into some Halloween-themed science fun this past week! In a candy corn science lab, students grouped up to drop candy corn into different liquids—water, canola oil, vinegar, and soda—and observed what would happen. Each group dropped their candy corn pieces at the same time and timed the experiment. As they watched closely, they recorded their observations with both words and pictures. By the end, they discovered that candy corn dissolved in water, soda, and vinegar but stayed intact in canola oil! 🧪🍂 This hands-on experiment was a perfect blend of science and seasonal spirit.
