A financial aid night will happen later in the year. The U.S. Department of Education announced a phased rollout for the 2025-26 FAFSA, with a full release on or before Dec. 1. This approach, informed by feedback from students and institutions, will allow testing with a limited group starting Oct. 1.

How To Prepare for the 2025–26 FAFSA® Form

Prepare now so you can complete the 2025–26 FAFSA form as soon as it’s available on or before Dec. 1, 2024. Here are some ways you can get ready:

• Create a StudentAid.gov account (if you don’t already have one).

• Learn about the documents you may need to fill out the FAFSA form.

• Determine your dependency status and whether your parent(s) or spouse will be required to contribute information on your FAFSA form.

• If you’re a dependent student, use the Who’s My FAFSA Parent? wizard to identify which parent(s) will be a required contributor on your form.

ATTENTION SENIORS - COLLEGE REP VISITS @ BHS

Did you know that your senior can sign up for college rep visits here at BHS? They need to log in to their Naviance Account (https://student.naviance.com/beavercreekhs).

• Username: Student ID Number

• Password: lastname.firstname (must be 10 characters so if too short 1s are added to the end to bring it up to 10 characters) 

Click on Colleges Tab, scroll down. All scheduled college rep visits are listed on the bottom right. Click "Show more." To sign up, click "register now" and then click "register". A link will be emailed to students the morning of the visit.

TRANSCRIPT INFORMATION

Transcripts requests will not begin to be sent out before September 16, 2024.

Unofficial transcripts will be given to Seniors in Advisory Period on Sept. 10th.

For those of you applying to more than one college, you may be utilizing the Common App.  As a quick reminder, Aug. 1, the entire system rolled over so if you had started completing it prior to that, any information you completed may have been deleted.  Please check your information.

• College deadline for NOVEMBER 1 - request transcript by Oct 18  

• College deadline for NOVEMBER 15 - request transcript by Nov 4

• College deadline for DECEMBER 1 - request transcript by Nov 15 or  22

• College deadline for DECEMBER 15 - request transcript by Dec 2 

• College deadline for JANUARY 1 - request transcript by Dec 15 or 19

• College deadline for FEBRUARY 1 - request transcript by Jan 20

• College deadline for FEBRUARY 15 - request transcript by Feb 3

When completing your information (i.e common app, etc) be sure to enter the correct counselor information.  You will enter your ASSIGNED COUNSELOR.  Please see below as to who the correct counselors are:

• Senior Information - this is a brief overview of important information

• Navigating Naviance - this document tells you how to request transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc.  If by chance your username/password won’t work or you can’t remember it from Spring, please contact Mrs. Bellomy

• COMMON APP - this is a step by step guide how to set up your common app account 

  • Students have the most difficulty with requesting transcripts and  linking the Naviance to their Common App.    Please read both the Navigating Naviance and Common APP Documents.  It is VERY important.

• How to Start the FAFSA - FAFSA is slowly rolling out the application on Oct 1st. The FAFSA will be fully available December 1st  this year but it is recommended that everyone complete the FAFSA even if you don’t think you will qualify for financial aid.  Occasionally, colleges, will offer incentives just to complete it

• Scholarships - this document will help you get started looking for scholarships but the majority of scholarships are from Universities if you meet the priority deadline.  Don’t forget that BHS has local scholarships later in the school year.  Please stay current on email and parent square information.

• Student Request form letter of recommendation - This form can be given to any teacher you are requesting a letter of recommendation from.  It just helps provide additional information to them and allow them to write a more complete, thorough letter on your behalf.

• GPA - You can get your GPA both weighted and unweighted on Naviance. BHS does not rank.
