It's National Bus Safety Week! This week is dedicated to:
🚌Raising awareness about bus safety
🚌Educating the public, especially children, about safe bus practices
🚌Promoting safety measures among bus drivers, schools, and transportation providers
🚌 Reducing bus-related accidents and injuries
To help ensure the safety of our students, our School Resource Officers (SROs), along with Deputy Chrystal Bowers of the Greene County Sheriff's Office, participated in "ride-alongs" with several of our drivers. They were on the lookout for safety issues like illegal bus passing and speeding drivers.
Throughout the week, they will also be monitoring bus stops and school zones across the district to keep our students safe! Thank you to everyone for your commitment to student safety! 🚍 #NationalSchoolBusSafetyWeek #StudentSafety #BcreekSchools #OneDistrictOneMissionOneCreek

Shaw had a Character Education Kick off assembly this morning. We were so happy to see Character Edwina!

This past Monday, two Shaw kindergarteners reminded us of the power of friendship as they walked to class together, kicking off their week with smiles and support. There’s nothing like having someone to share the journey with! 😊👫 #ShawElementary #Friendship #OneDistrictOneMissionOneCreek

✨ Today is School Custodian Appreciation Day! ✨
Let’s take a moment to say THANK YOU to all of our custodians who work tirelessly to keep our schools and buildings safe, clean, and running smoothly. We’re lucky to have approximately 48 custodians throughout the district who make a huge difference every day! 🙌
Pictured here are our amazing head custodians, but we want to extend our gratitude to every custodian in the district for everything they do. You are truly appreciated! 🧹🏫 #CustodianAppreciationDay #ThankYou #BeavercreekSchools #OneDistrictOneMissionOneCreek

Did you know September is Deaf Awareness Month? We are proud to have many amazing individuals in our district who are part of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. To celebrate, some of our students, teachers, and interpreters had a blast decorating the BHS rock! 🤟🏼
AHA stands for All Hearing Abilities, reminding us that everyone, regardless of hearing level, is welcome in our community. In these photos, each person is signing their role: artist, interpreter, student, and teacher. 💙

Students in Miss Gore's class at Shaw have been learning what it means to be a scientist and each step of the scientific method. This past week, they experimented to answer the question: "What will happen to a gummy bear placed in different liquids?"
Our scientists hypothesized, observed, and recorded their findings—and were amazed to discover that the gummy bears expanded rather than dissolved! Then, they explored the science behind it, discussing how the gelatin in the gummy bears caused osmosis. They had so much fun experimenting and learning! 🍬🔍

🌟 #CreekFactFriday 🌟Each year, BCS Central Office hosts a special 9/11 Luncheon to honor our Beavercreek First Responders. This tradition began 23 years ago as a classroom project led by Board President Jo Ann Rigano, and it continues to be meaningful today!

👮♀️ In honor of National Police Woman Day, we want to give a special shoutout to our amazing DARE instructor, Officer Peffly! 🌟 Officer Peffly has tremendously impacted our students by teaching them the importance of making safe and responsible choices. Her dedication, leadership, and positive influence help shape our school community every day.
Thank you, Officer Peffly, for your service and commitment to keeping our students safe! 💙 #NationalPoliceWomanDay #ThankYouOfficerPeffly #BcreekSchools

Kicking Off Science with Fun and Curiosity in Mr. Shaw's Class! 🔬🌈
Mr. Shaw's class at Shaw Elementary started their science lessons this year by learning how scientists ask questions and make observations. To practice, they did a fun "Skittles Lab" to answer the question, "What happens when you pour water over Skittles?"
Each student arranged Skittles in a bowl, made careful observations, and recorded what they saw on their lab sheet. When the water was poured, the students were amazed as the colors ran off the candy and formed beautiful patterns in the water! 🎨#AtShawWithShaw

🌟 #CreekFactFriday is back! 🌟Did you know this weekend’s Beavercreek Popcorn Festival marks the 25th year BCS has had a booth at the event? 🎉🍿Come celebrate with us tomorrow and Saturday, enjoy popcorn, and learn more about our schools! We can’t wait to see you there!

🧪✨ Last week, Mrs. McCormick’s 3rd grade class at Shaw Elementary had an exciting time learning about termites and the scents they follow!
The students explored how termites respond to different shapes, colors, and materials virtually—what a fun way to dive into science! 🐜🔍
