🎻🎶 The Orchestra and You program struck a chord with Fairbrook's second graders this week! Students had a blast learning about different instruments and how an orchestra works. The best part? 🔬 Student Spotlight: Luke’s Out-of-This-World Discovery! 🌠 During a 5th-grade science discussion in Mr. Streiff’s class, Fairbrook student Luke shared an incredible story—he owns a real meteorite! While in Alaska, Luke noticed steaming snow in the yard. When he investigated, he discovered a meteorite at the center of the melted snow! Luke brought it to class where students were amazed to see the effects of intense atmospheric pressure on the space rock. 🚀☄️ Fairbrook 5th Graders Explore Meteorite Impact with Officer Peffly! ☄️🚀 Last Friday, Officer Peffly joined Fairbrook’s 5th graders for an “impactful” STEM lab! Students experimented with falling meteorites, learning how speed and height affect crater size. They took charge of the scientific process by dropping metal marbles into corn starch and flour—making discoveries, exploring STEM, and getting a little messy along the way! 🧑‍🔬✨ Hands-on learning at its best! 👏 #OneDistrictOneMissionOneCreek #STEMinAction

🌟 Student Spotlight: Mary Herdman 🌟 Meet Mary Herdman, a talented 3rd grader in Mrs. Carenza's class at Fairbrook Elementary! 🧡🖤 Mary has been competing with Quest Gymnastics since she was 6, and her hard work is paying off! At the 2023 and 2024 Ohio State Compulsory Meets, she placed 1st all-around—first in Level 2 (2023) and again in Level 3 (2024)! 🤸‍♀️🏆 This past weekend, Mary competed in Tennessee and earned her third consecutive all-around 1st place finish this season! With an impressive 9.7 on vault, she is now ranked 57th in the nation for Level 4 vault, and her Quest Gymnastics team is 38th on vault! 💪✨ With two more meets left before the Ohio Compulsory State Meet in March, we can't wait to see Mary continue to shine!
